The Joomla project has officially announced the end of support for Joomla 1.0 as of July 30th, 2009. At this time Joomla 1.0 is considered vulnerable and if you haven't already, you should be working on your migration to 1.5. Documentation on the migration can be found on the Joomla site.
We are already starting to see an increase in attacks on 1.0 based sites, so migrating to 1.5 is very important.
